UKTI
Q’s not going to like this!
So comments Bond after his BMW has been sliced in half by a helicopter in “The World is Not Enough.” Maybe Q would feel better if he saw some of the UK technology we will be showcasing on our stand at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month.
The Smart UK Project is a competition we have been running to find the UK’s most innovative mobile company. 79 companies submitted entries a couple of months ago and they have been closely examined and whittled down to a shortlist of four. I met them at a press conference last week for the companies going out to Mobile World Congress. Imagine my excitement when I saw a short article in this week’s Metro about them! Details about the competition and the shortlisted companies are can be found on this website. http://www.smartukproject.co.uk/
More then 60,000 people attended last years Mobile World Congress and all of them would have walked past our UKTI stand in its prime spot on the Avenida. It will be in the same place again this year with 9 UK companies promoting their services and products. We also have 20 UKTI commercial officers at the show, bringing delegates from their markets to meet with the stand companies and other UK attendees. The commercial officers have been asked to write some blog entries before and during the event on what they are going to be getting up to at Mobile World Congress. I’m looking forward to reading them.
Finally, we are working with the ICT KTN to provide a programme of seminars at Mobile World Congress. We’ve got speakers from companies like O2, Vodafone and PowerOasis sharing their knowledge. Find more information and details on how to register in advance for the sessions on the UKTI website.
Wouldn’t it be cool if Q turned up to the seminar on Cyber Security?
